Start with your routine, then check the fit. A good setup depends on the device, surface and task together.
1. Name the task
Choose your main use: a video call at a desk, a recipe on a counter, occasional viewing away from home, or tidier cable placement. This narrows the accessory type before you compare appearance.
2. Check the complete device
Use your phone with its usual case when checking fit. Look for supported dimensions, thickness, weight, connector access and any restrictions in the actual product information. A model name alone may not establish compatibility.
3. Match the surface
Desk stands need a level, stable surface and suitable footprint. Clamp holders need a mounting edge within their stated range. Adhesive or magnetic attachments need the specified surface or compatible attachment system. Do not assume one attachment method works everywhere.
4. Plan the viewing position
Decide whether you need portrait, landscape, or both. Keep the device within the stand’s intended adjustment range. Test stability before leaving it unattended, and keep the setup away from edges and liquids.
5. Keep power separate
Check cable clearance if you plan to charge while the device rests in a holder. A cable opening is not evidence of electrical charging capability. Use chargers and cables suitable for your device and follow their own instructions.
